The end of the rainy season has brought renewed fighting between the government, its allied militias and the rebels in the mountainous region of Darfur located at the intersection of North, South and Central Darfur States. We hope the fighting stops and that aid groups can reach every single person in need.

Happy Birthday to all the January 1 people out there! And Happy New Year to all!
Many Darfuris have January 1 as their official birthday, so New Year’s Day has a special significance for the community. DOHS wishes everyone everywhere a very happy new year, and as always our thoughts and prayers go out to the displaced throughout the world, and to those helping them out.
