16,500 newly displaced in Central, South and North Darfur, according to UNOCHA

6,000 of those persons came from the Jebel Marra area to Guldo in Central Darfur state, allegedly due to militia attacks and lack of aid.  Another 1,800 are now in villages in Katayla Locality in South Darfur after escaping severe intertribal fighting last month.  Sadly, intertribal fighting also displaced some 8,700 more people from villages to surrounding towns and Abassi camp in Mellit Locality, North Darfur.  Source is UNOCHA’s Humanitarian Bulletin for March 30 to April 5:
